Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a very common condition which many people mistakenly believe that there is nothing which can be done to improve. A biomechanical assessment of muscle length and strength is key as it is common to find muscle imbalances contributing to this condition. For example, many patients with knee arthritis have been shown to have weak quadriceps and hip abductor muscles. It is also common for patients with osteoarthritis to develop joint or capsular restrictions which respond well to myofascial release and joint mobilization techniques.

We take a comprehensive approach and many of our patients are surprised to see how much better they feel after receiving proper treatment. You can see Dr. Teixeira's research on osteoarthritis by clicking on the RESEARCH tab.
